Thought I'd post some pictures of the adults for a change. Shocker! These were taken last weekend at the wedding reception of my cousing Niecia. It was a beautiful wedding and a great night out with the four of us. We've spent the majority of this week doing more finishing work on the new sliding door which should be 100% finished by this week. I'll be sure to post some pictures when it is. Let me just take this moment to say that my husband completely embodies the description "jack of all trades". Not only does he sing like an angel (i.e. this morning at SLWC singing "There is none like you" I told him afterwards that when he sings that like that I'm not thinking about Jesus.. TMI?); play the guitar, piano and drums like nobody's business; preach the paint off the walls every Sun. night; he can also drywall, tile, roof and just generally be our very own handyman. What can I say? I married the man of my dreams. Yes, 'tis true!
This last picture is just too funny NOT to post. What is it you say? Jay's best friend Micah came over a couple of nights ago. Let me tell ya, when these boys get together, get out of the way. Micah decided it would be a great adventure to take Zeke's Little Tikes car for a ride in the lawn at 1 in the morning. Problem, he got stuck. I'm not kidding. TRULY, stuck. I'm not sure I've ever laughed so hard.

On a bit more serious note, please keep our family in your prayers this week. Jason will be scouring all of Grand Rapids for a full time job, seeing that we CANNOT find a part time one that will bring in enough money. This will be a pretty big step for us, and we NEED to find a job soon as our paycheck from the church will be much smaller in 2 weeks!!! Love to you all!

Can't wait to see the new door!! The pictures were great!! Looked like you had a fun night out!! Every couple needs those!! I will be praying for a job to open up.
I know God will supply the need!!
Love you all,
Mom Grate
You guys look great! I have never thought you and Shelly looked that much a like, but in your first picture I think you do.
That last picture is pretty funny...he definitely does not look comfortable! How did he finally get out?
pretty girls:) love manda
Hey Sister! I'm so glad you posted. I love reading your posts. You guys all look great. Jason's got the sexy look going on. I need to talk to you about getting Emmy for her weekend, I'll call you soon! Love ya!
Your husband sure CAN sing!! I don't think I've felt God's presence more then when Jason was leading worship at KWC!
I'll be praying that God provides you guys a job. I know what it's like to be short on $$$. After I lost my position during my pregnancy w/Asher and after we decided for me to just stay home w/the boys since I didn't have a FT job to go back to, money has been WAY tight. God has provided, but our savings is diminishing :( I know He will show us the way though!
You all look fabulous!!! Looks like you guys had a great time. OH guess what just about three more weeks and I should be moving to GR!!! :)
Holly- great to see pics of all 4 of you! You all look GREAT!
We will be thinking of you and praying for you as you look into another job. I am sure this is a "tense" time, but I know you have your focus on the Man ABOVE and like your mom said... God will supply the need!
Love ya
HAHAHAHAHA! I was checkign out your sidebar...and just noticed that you have my sis-n-law as a "blog Stalker"!
Love it
It really was great to see some recent pics of you guys! We're also praying for Jason's employment situation - may God bless you in your obedience to Him.
Yay for the new post! And I can't believe how great you all look! I'm sure Jason will find the perfect place for him. God is faithful...Didn't you sing a Brooklyn Tab song in Singers to that affect?
Michelle-ohmigosh! I could sing that song in my sleep for the number of times we did that song! Cracks me up you remember it. Memories... The words sure ring true today, thanks for the remider, I needed it!
I always wanted your voice....
Oh PULEASEEEE Michelle- little Miss "A Mighty Fortress"! If I would've been asked to sing that note it would've been the end of my days in Chorale!!!! HA!
oh, that's funny. Micah got stuck... that's pretty outstanding. more outstanding than that, though, is probably the story of how he got there at 1am. that's worth a post on it's own i imagine. yeah, that's good.
i just wrote a whole bit on the bi-vocational ministry thing and deleted it because what i end up saying is, "this is going to be great for greenhouse". i think it will just make a lot of sense to your community. but will certainly bring a whole new level of stressors to the lives of the Grates; i can appreciate that for your family. The ground gets more stable as you navigate the new terrain.
You all look fabulous - you girls especially haven't changed a bit since college days! (BTW, it's nice to see pics of the grown ups.)
Did you salvage the little car rescuing Micah from it?
Jaena-ha! Yes the car did remain intact, thank God! It's the kids favorite thing to fight about!
