Thought I'd post some pictures of Elijah and Emmy at their vegetable stand. My dad has been itching to help him sell some produce from his MASSIVE garden and we finally got it together yesterday. Truly, there is nothing more heartwarming than watching your kids sit outside and wait for people to show up... Elijah has been pretty hard core about it, even taking everything from our house to Shelly's this afternoon so as not to miss ONE customer (a.k.a. MONEY!!!). He's made about $11 since yesterday and is already quite the little business man.
Now for the good news... I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!!!! What, you say? Yes, yes, yes! I'm officially calling it the Miracle of 2006. I know, maybe a slight exaggeration, but really, it's pretty amazing. I've said for years if I could create the perfect job, it would be playing the piano for a church or school with no other responsibilities than to show up and play. (And also make good money doing it.) So today, the pastor's wife from the church we rent our building from called me up. She just took a JH choir job and was in dire need of an accompanist. It's everyday from 7:50 to 10:15 and the kicker is, it's $60 a day- or $300 a week. This is the EXACT amount we said we needed. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For me this will be a bit of a break and Jay will be able to be at work by 10:30. Not only that, I can hardly wait for it to start. Yup, I'm a choir nerd, I can say it. It's true...
Also, a HUGE thank you to all for your many prayers throughout these past weeks. I won't say it's been easy, but I've felt constantly uplifted by the prayers of friends and loved ones. You ALL mean a lot to us!

How amazingly wonderful and perfect - so like our God, huh? Congratulations, Holly!
And your kids are, once again, too cute - little entrepreneurs. :)
Yeah!! That's awesome news! God does provide! The kids are too darn cute. I love it!
....i couldn't agree with you more about anonymous comments.....a big petpeeve of mine also....and i'd give you a few parenting tips, but it looks like you and hubby have it all under control......cute pics.
Hey, tell Elijah and Emmy that I want to buy some veggies when we come up in a couple of weeks. So save some for Grandma! Haven't had any good home grown produce this year. The pictures are too cute!!
Congratulations on the job!! I am so happy for you!! God will provide!! Jason, loved all the comments on Kelley's blog. FUNNY MEMORIES!! Daddy and I laughed and laughed as we read them!! Keep posting!!
All these years and I had NO IDEA you played the piano...pretty sad, I know. I definitely have always known you could sing, though...I love your voice :)
Anyway, congrats! It always amazes me when God not only answers prayer (not necessarily in our timing or the way we want), but answers it over and above what we expect or can even imagine. God is good!

So glad and happy for you! Our Lord is so able to provide everything for us, even the details when we Trust in Him like you and your family do! I am inspired by your story!
Congrats! And God is good!
Yahoo! I am so happy for you. :-)
I thought maybe you all had resorted to selling veggies to pay the bills. Looks like the kids are having a great time with it.
Cute pictures of the kids! Congratulations on your new job as well!
Holly,
Nothing like a confirmation that God is in control. One time when I was first divorced we needed money badly to pay some bills. I went to the Mailbox and there was a letter with five hundred dollars with a note to keep all of it but ten percent. I was to give the ten percent to someone who needed it and not tell anyone about this gift. I really worried about who to give it too. I decided on one person. I gave it too her told her the story and it was the exact amount she needed to get some medicine she needed. Right after that every Sunday for the next ten there was a ten dollar bill taped on my steering wheel at church. That has always remained a testimony to me that God takes care of his children just when we need it sometimes in the most unusual way so we can share the story with others.
Love you all
Carolyn
It was so good seeing you and your clan at the mall. As Adam and I were walking thru the mall I said my heart hurts for not doing what I know I should have done. I should have thrown my arms around you and Shelly both. And say how sorry I am that Ava is not here with you anymore. And that I think of you so very often and pray each and every time Ava crosses my thoughts. But I got embarassed and didn't. I hate it when I go so shy. I had never met Shelly and had only met you once before since I am only the wife of a Chorale member I don't have the deep bond and connection. I must admit I have read both family blogs and cried late into the night. I still cry every time I tell people about it. People have not forgotten Ava or the families. I may not know your middle names or your birthdays, but I love each of you. As silly and cliche as it sounds...because we truly are family thru Him.
Congratulations on the job! It sounds PERFECT!
By the way, do your kids ship produce?
can you ship me two tomatoes and a cumcumber. Let me know how much. They are hilarous and look like quite the business people. Congrats on the job! We love you all.
Yipee! What an incredible blessing!
That is great!! Yea!!! God is so good.....so good. Love you!
If I lived nearby I would have stopped at the Veggie Stand and practically bought you out...our family loves fresh veggies, especially Caislyn!
Congrats on the job! I am so excited for you. Like your mom said in a past blog comment, "God will provide the need"! and look He practically provide you with a dream job...and wow, good money too! I am sure you will have a blast...and the students will love Mrs. Grate.
Doesn't it feel so good to just FEEL the prayers of those around us? I've been experiencing this feeling a lot here lately. Although, it didn't erase the hurt, it still gives you a calm/peaceful feeling.
and that makes me add to my last comment...thank you for your comments on our blog! and how cute of an image to visualize Emmy praying for Sweet Baby B! (tell her one day, he/she will have a REAL name, I promise!)
We love you guys too!!!!! and think you all the time.
Outstanding. that's so cool.
Congrats on the job, that's so wonderful. Your kids are so cute. I'm looking forward to doing things like that with my kids. Those memories last forever.
